On Sunday we heard some of the stories from around Soul Survivor, but we’d love to hear more. As long as they’re OK for seeing on the internet, it’d be great to hear what happened for you guys. So post a comment and share a fun story (It doesn’t need to be spiritual – just a story!)

suit_hire_001.jpgJust a reminder (although I’m sure you don’t need it) that this week is the much-anticipated formal dinner and that as a result you need to show up at 7:00 instead of the normal 7:30. We’ll be finishing at the usual time, and you should come dressed in your best, and ready to enjoy a delicious meal by guest celebrity chef’s: Dan and Han.

Thanks,

Geoff

Big reminder not to show up in your traditional Friday-night best this week: we’re playing MESSY GAMES. So be prepared for some silliness,  some strange tastes, and general mayhem. And be prepared to be lovely and help out your youth leaders clean up at the end!

A couple of weeks ago Bec ran an evening on “Communion” where we asked some pretty big questions. If that interested you: you might want to have a look at a blog post from Andrew Hamilton (“Hamo”) at Backyard Missionary. It’s pretty long, but it might be worth a read.

The Friday night youth program has been updated, and can be downloaded from the link below. Should be a really good and exciting term ahead: we’ve got a few old favourites and a few new things to try out. And watch out for the messy games: this time there’ll be no excuse if you’re not wearing mess-able clothes!

Term 3 2007 Program

(Edit: Thanks to Jess who helped me find out this was broken: it’s fixed now)

As most of you would be aware – the 22nd of June was to be our big formal dinner to finish off the term with – but news has come through that the majority of you are involved in the MECS production on that night – so we’re going to rest the formal idea until sometime next term (you will know as soon as we’ve decided). If you’re not busy that night – make sure you still come along because we’d love to see you, but it will probably be a cruisy hang-out night.

NewspaperHey guys, still buzzing from Friday night, but there’s a few things you should know about. Firstly: you might have seen the announcement in the Sunday bulletin – I know you guys love reading those – but there’s a “Baptism Sunday” coming up in a little over a month (9th July). I spoke with you guys a few weeks ago about Baptism stuff, and we’ve already got a couple of people keen to get dunked, but if there’s any others who either want to sign up, or just want to chat about what it all means: please let us know.

Secondly, this week’s “Going Deeper: A Worship Experience” will include some highly sought after musical guests, as well as an international visitor. Kevin Butterfield (you can check out his MySpace here) – our very-almost-here senior pastor guy will be dropping in, so it could be a good chance to tell him everything you want the church to do before the old people get in and ruin everything :D . And our music will come from some members of the older half of the youth group – it’ll be a night to remember.

Slum SurvivorThis week’s activity needs you to arrive at the church at 7:00 - not the usual 7:30. I can’t tell you too much – but it will be related to the big church’s “Mission Week”. Also, it would be good if you could bring cardboard boxes, plastic sheeting, maybe even a tarp if you’ve got them lying around. That would be great!

You should have received one already, but if you don’t I’ve uploaded the program as a PDF file – so you can download and print your own!

Program for May-June 2007

Hello?Hey guys. Not sure exactly what this will look like, but we’ll probably put news up here as well as future events, photos, and maybe even some ideas about God. Leave a comment and let us know that you’ve got here!
