On Sunday we heard some of the stories from around Soul Survivor, but we’d love to hear more. As long as they’re OK for seeing on the internet, it’d be great to hear what happened for you guys. So post a comment and share a fun story (It doesn’t need to be spiritual – just a story!)

Welcome to YVV YOUTH 2008!

Click here to see the youth program for Term 1.  (the file is a little bit big but shouldn’t take too long).

Can’t wait to see you all on Friday!

Hi all, it’s been a while. But do check out this guy’s myspace page.

He’s 15yr’s old and is doing all he can to help get rid of slavery in the world. It’s pretty inspirational.

No more complaints about being too shy or too young, you don’t have to be the upfront world changer, but you can do so much with who you are through God.

Watch the Good Morning America video (I might see if we can show it at youth next week) if you can. It’s really interesting.

suit_hire_001.jpgJust a reminder (although I’m sure you don’t need it) that this week is the much-anticipated formal dinner and that as a result you need to show up at 7:00 instead of the normal 7:30. We’ll be finishing at the usual time, and you should come dressed in your best, and ready to enjoy a delicious meal by guest celebrity chef’s: Dan and Han.

Thanks,

Geoff

Big reminder not to show up in your traditional Friday-night best this week: we’re playing MESSY GAMES. So be prepared for some silliness,  some strange tastes, and general mayhem. And be prepared to be lovely and help out your youth leaders clean up at the end!

A couple of weeks ago Bec ran an evening on “Communion” where we asked some pretty big questions. If that interested you: you might want to have a look at a blog post from Andrew Hamilton (”Hamo”) at Backyard Missionary. It’s pretty long, but it might be worth a read.

For all you myspace lovers, Kevin Butterfield (the new pastor) has a myspace page.

Where are you on myspace?

The Friday night youth program has been updated, and can be downloaded from the link below. Should be a really good and exciting term ahead: we’ve got a few old favourites and a few new things to try out. And watch out for the messy games: this time there’ll be no excuse if you’re not wearing mess-able clothes!

Term 3 2007 Program

(Edit: Thanks to Jess who helped me find out this was broken: it’s fixed now)

Hello all, on Sunday Jess and d’Arcy got baptised (Along with Hannah’s brother Tom and another girl Kym)! It was fantastic hearing their stories and sharing this step with them.

We all went out afterwards and prayed for them and had a bit of a party.

Congratulations to you both, it’s really exciting and encouraging. If you read this it might be good to share what you said up here in a comment.

If anyone has any questions about what went on, what is baptism or are thinking of getting baptised, please let us know!

Click the pictures for a closer look.

As most of you would be aware – the 22nd of June was to be our big formal dinner to finish off the term with – but news has come through that the majority of you are involved in the MECS production on that night – so we’re going to rest the formal idea until sometime next term (you will know as soon as we’ve decided). If you’re not busy that night – make sure you still come along because we’d love to see you, but it will probably be a cruisy hang-out night.
